UP Free Housing Scheme – Adityanath Yogi to Launch Soon

CM of Uttar Pradesh Adityanath Yogi is going to launch Free Housing Scheme for poor families of Uttar Pradesh. To implement this housing scheme government needs to take loan of Rs.30 billion. After approval of loan construction will be started. Around 6.25 poor families will be benefitted. Government has decided to provide affordable houses to candidates belonging to SC/ST & OBC category.

Highlights of UP Free Housing Scheme

Government has targeted to provide houses to needy people before Lok Sabha elections in year 2019.
In first phase of housing scheme, loan of Rs. 3,000 crore will be taken by HUDCO, which is a loan providing financial institutions.

As per officials, government has a fund of Rs. 1051.44 crore & only 2,19,049 houses can be constructed. 3605.08 crore more rupees are required to construct 7,51,059 houses. HUDCO has accepted government’s approval for loan at 8.60% annual interest rate.

Till the end of current financial year, around 9,70,108 housing units has been allotted under PMAY-G. Cost of housing unit in size of 25 sq. meter was Rs. 1.20 lakh. Government found 24.43 lakh eligible families as per Socio, Economic & Caste Census 2011.
