Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme: The government of Telangana has issued the order to begin the construction under the scheme at Medak district. The order to construct 285 bedroom two-bedroom houses for beneficiaries of weaker sections in Medak district has been issued and the project will begin first in Erravelli village in Jadgdevpur mandal. The order is signed by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao.
Earlier, the order to construct 1500 houses in Warangal and 2000 houses in Mahbubnagar were issued under the scheme and the project will take on in Erravelli Village where the CM is keen to get the work grounded as soon as possible.
Last year, the construction of 396 similar houses in Bhoiguda area of Hyderabad started in the month of October which is progress. Telangana Rashtra Samithi government promised to provide 2BHK houses for deserving beneficiaries in all villages across Telangana. The proposal comprised of at least 60,000 to 1 lakh houses in the first phase of the scheme.
The cost of individual houses constructing in Erravelli will be Rs. 5.04 (Rs. 900 per square feet) lakh and the unit will cover the area of 560 square feet.
The Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said in his statement that at least 20 lakh families living in villages do not have proper houses. Over the next five-six years, we plan to build nearly 10 lakhs houses. The goal of our Chief Minister KCR is to build houses for those who are in need. Each house will have two bedrooms, a hall, kitchen and toilets.
The order for construction of 1500 houses in six slum area of Warangal and 2000 houses in three slum area in Mehbubnagar were issued on 6 June and these houses will construct in the pattern of G+3, G+2 and G+ building. According to the source, total 3957 beneficiaries identified in Warangal while in Mahbubnagar, 2,300 have been identified. Construction is yet to start as some land is yet to be acquired in these areas. The TRS Government will call for tenders for executing this scheme in rural areas after the guidelines and rules are set in place.
