Digital Police Portal is an initiative of Government of India towards Digital India programme. Digital police portal, digitalpolice.gov.in launched by Home Minister Rajnath Singh under the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) Project . Initially, it is applicable in 34 States & Urban Territories, will offer several public services listed below.

Digital Police Portal – Services

  • Person and address verification of employees, tenants, nurses.
  • Passport verification online.
  • Permission for hosting public events.
  • Online complaint (FIR Registration)
  • Request for antecedent verification
  • State Police Citizen Portals

Total 15,398 police stations are under Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project, of which 14,284 Police Stations are using CCTNS software. In 13,775 police station, 100% FIR are being generated through CCTNS software.

While launching the digital police portal under CCTNS project, Home Minister Rajnath Singh informed that the Ministry of Home Affairs will undertake steps to integrate the various organs of the Criminal Justice System such as the police, courts, prisons, prosecution, forensic laboratories, fingerprints and juvenile homes with the CCTNS database.

CCTNS portal will allow the investigator to find the complete record history of any criminal from anywhere across the country.
