30 Things to Know About DDA Housing Scheme 2014 Before Applying

Delhi Development Authority is inviting applications for its largest ever housing scheme 2014 from September 1st through both online and offline mode. DDA has offered a total of 250,034 flats for EWS, LIG, MIG and HIG category at different locations across the city. If you too are willing to apply for the scheme, here are 20 things you should know before applying online or offline

  1. The start date of obtaining the applications forms & brochure for registration is 1 September and last date is 9 October. Same is the case with online applications.
  2. The cost of scheme application form and brochure is Rs. 150/-
  3. The application forms and brochures can be purchased from several bank branches of 13 empanelled banks including Indusind bank, Kotak Mahindra, ICICI, Axis Bank, HDFC, State bank of India, Central bank of India, Union bank of India, Yes bank, Punjab National Bank, Syndicate bank, Corporation bank and IDBI bank.
  4. Any Indian citizen above the age of 18 is eligible to apply for the scheme.
  5. The applicant or spouse or children should not have any plot/flat in their name anywhere in Delhi.
  6. Only one application is allowed per applicant, husband and wife can separately apply for the scheme but only one can keep the flat if allotted to both.
  7. Registration fee for EWS flats in Rs 10,000/- while in case of LIG, HIG and MIG, the registration cost is Rs 1,00,000/-.
  8. The registration money in case of offline applications has to be paid via Demand Draft/Banker’s cheque in favor of DDA HOUSING payable at Delhi/New Delhi only.
  9. In case of online applications, the registration amount can be deposited through NEFT/RTGS or netbanking. Debit/Credit cards are not being accepted. Users will also have to pay the cost of application form rs. 150/- along with the registration amount.
  10. To get a refund if the flat is not allotted, applicants will have to fill in their saving bank account details (Payee name, bank account number, branch name, IFSC code). The payee name of bank account should match the name of applicant. IFSC code is not required however if filled the amount will directly be refunded into the bank account otherwise a cheque will be sent.
  11. PAN number is necessary for the applicants applying for LIG, MIG and HIG category of flats. It is not required for EWS applications.
  12. The refund cheque and the demand-cum-allotment letter will be sent to the applicant’s correspondence address filled in the application form.
  13. In case of joint application, joint applicant name, photo and relation is required.
  14. DDA is offering 811 flats from the old inventory but these flats will be restored to original condition before handing over the possession.
  15. A total of 700 EWS flats are being offered for which a separate mini draw will be held by DDA. The area of EWS flats is 25-40 square foot and tentative cost is Rs 6.90 lakh to 11.00 lakh. All 700 EWS flats are located at Shivaji Marg, New Delhi.
  16. The area of LIG one bedroom flats is between 32 Sqft to 73.99 sqft, 1BHK Janta flats between 18.85 to 28.72 square foot, MIG flat between 64.04 to 99.73 and HIG flats have between 84.82 to 164.11 square foot. Area of EWS flats is 25-40 square foot.
  17. DDA is offering 129 flats under the expandable housing scheme type A in Rohini sector 20 & 25 and Narela A-6 & A-10.
  18. A total of 27.5% or about 6,884 flats in the scheme are reserved for scheduled cast (15%), scheduled tribes (7.5%), war widows (1%), person with disability (3%) and ex-serviceman (1%).
  19. The applicants can choose 3 preferences for flats based on the locality and type of flats and fill the preference category code in the form.
  20. In case of handicapped, who are not able to sign the form, guardian/parents can sign the form.
  21. In case any applicant wants to change the detail in paper application form, he needs to purchase a separate application form. No cutting or over-writing is allowed.
  22. Applicants need not to submit any document at the time of submitting the application. Documents will be required at the time of allotment.
  23. All the eligible candidates will be considered for the computerized lottery draw to be held on 30th October.
  24. The successful applicants will have to pay the cost of flats within 90 days after receiving the allotment letter on cash down basis except for the PD and EWS category who have the choice of paying the amount in installments.
  25. If the applicant is unable to pay the amount in 90 days, he/she will have to pay rest of the amount in not more than next 9 months along with interest rate of 12% per annum.
  26. The payment of demanded amount has to be made online through RTGS/NEFT/Netbanking from the allottee’s account only. Applicants can generate e-challan from DDA website before making the payment.
  27. If the allottee fails to deposit the full amount within maximum 365 days after the allotment letter, the allotment will automatically be cancelled and the deposited amount will be refunded without interest.
  28. If an applicant wishes to cancel or surrender the flat allotment before the issue of allotment letter, he/she will not be charged anything else up to Rs. 50,000 for LIG, HIG and MIG and up to Rs. 5,000 will be charged in case of EWS applicants.
  29. The registration amount of the unsuccessful applicants will be refunded without any deduction after within 90 days of the lottery draw.
  30. If the amount is not refunded within 90 days, DDA will pay 8% per annum interest for the period beyond 3 months after the closure of scheme.
