Chandigarh Housing Board: After a gap of eight years, the authority has announced a housing scheme to construct 128 2BHK flats in Sector-51. The announcement was made in a high-level meeting of the board. In the meeting the approval has given to the project by the administration.
The node is also given to the design of flats by the chief architect & the flat comprise dining room, two bedrooms, balconies, kitchen, store, dress space & two toilets. Single unit would likely to cost Rs 68 lakh. It is not clear whether the CHB would hold the draw of lots or an auction for the units. The only condition being that the applicants should not own property in the Tricity.
The official of CHB told the media that the construction work of flats would be started soon after taking the approval for the project from Urban Planning. A CHB press release stated that the houses under the proposed scheme would be on the pattern of stilt+4 with all modern facilities.
The source said that the other work like water supply, storm water drainage, sewage disposal, road work and horticulture will be completed within two years after taking a green signal from the Urban Planning Department. The decision to construct flats under the housing scheme was made after discussing this aspect with the official of architect department, who accepted this demand after a little perusal.
