Chandigarh Housing Board to Buy Land for New Housing Schemes

Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB), in a major decision taken on Thursday has approved the purchase of land for construction of homes under different housing schemes.

The land will be purchased in the adjacent areas of Chandigarh in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The housing board will launch housing scheme on the purchase land which will be allotted to various categories of citizens including general public.

The various categories of the citizens may include employees of the Chandigarh Administration, ex-servicemen (including members of paramilitary forces), lawyers, judges, sportsmen, media persons, doctors, and other professionals such as chartered accountants, town planners, architects and engineers.

The board has also amended the GPA policy under which there is now no lock-in period for the freehold properties under the self-financing housing schemes. The applicants whose transfer applications were rejected due to the lock in period in last GPA will be proceeded further.

The allottees who applied for transfer needs not to apply again, they just need to pay the processing/transfer fee to the board, if not paid already.
