Andhra Pradesh Approves Housing Scheme in Amaravati for Govt. Employees

State government of Andhra Pradesh announced special kind of housing scheme for government employees of the state. The announcement was made by CM, N. Chandrababu Naidu in the meeting of officials organised by CRDA on 15th February 2017.

Under the government employees housing scheme, MLAs, MLCs and judges in Capital city Amaravati will be benefited by providing them an affordable housing unit.

The plan for implementing the scheme has been created and as per the plan G+8 apartment will be provided to around 9,061 employees and the project will be constructed over the land of 139 acres.

The houses will be made available for five different categories according to their needs. Judges, MLAs, MLCs, all India service officers are categorised in the first category and the next two category are for gazetted officers.

In forth category, non-gazetted officers will be benefited and while the fifth category is earmarked for class IV employees.

These flats will be available in the size range of 900 square feet to 2,900 square feet depending on the category.

The CM directed the CRDA to meet all quality standards and affordability in the housing.

The source informed that the housing department and CRDA has prepared a plan for the construction of around 12,000 to accommodate judges, Ministers and staff and the officers of the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat shifting to Amaravati in July last.

There were plans to provide four BHK (bedroom-hall-kitchen) and three BHK duplex houses to judges and senior judicial and IAS officers.

All others — members of the Legislative Council and the Assembly, Heads of Departments, gazetted and non-gazetted officers and junior employees — will be put up in the apartments.
