88,187 Houses Approved in Bihar under PM Awas Yojana – Urban

Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MHUPA) has approved the construction of 88,187 houses under the Central government’s housing for all mission Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban. Along with this houses, MHUPA has also given an approval of over 1 lakh houses in Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Assam, Kerala, Jharkhand and Daman & Diu.

These 1 lakh houses under PMAY-Urban in the above states will be constructed with an investment of Rs. 4,200 crores while the sanctioned amount for constructing 88,187 houses in Bihar is not announced yet.

The PMAY-Urban facilitating the beneficiaries by providing them a financial assistance and home loan facility along along with subsidy and other facilities such as water, sewerage, roads and power etc.

Houses are being constructed over the area of 30 square meter under the housing mission of central government Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. PMAY-Urban components under which the central government is providing assistance to the beneficiaries of the scheme.

Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC)
Under the component of Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), the central government is providing an assistance of Rs. 1.50 lakh to the beneficiary of EWS category for the construction and enhancement of house.

In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR)

Slum dwellings to be redeveloped at same place using land as resource for meeting the project cost so that slum dweller get pucca houses free of cost. Assistance of up to Rs. 1 lakh is provided to make the the project viable.
