7 New Highway Projects Waiting for Govt. Approval

The road transport and highway ministry has proposed cabinet to approve 7 highway projects worth Rs. 16,000 crore. The highways will be build on Public Private Partnership Model.

The combined length of the projects would be approximately 852 kilometers. The project which will cost the highest amount of Rs. 7,855 crore is Delhi-Meerut Expressway. The lowest cost project among the 7 is four laning of kazhakkotta-Mukkola stretch on NH 47.

Below is the list of upcoming highway projects

Apart from this, the government has also set a target for itself to award 8,500 kilometers of highway projects within this fiscal year. This will be the fist set of new projects to be approved by newly elected NDA government, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

During the fiscal year, 2013-14, the UPA led government was able to achieve only 3,169 km against a target of 7,500 Kilometers of highways to be awarded.
