2BHK Housing Scheme: Telangana Govt to Spend Rs12,600 Crore

Telangana government will provide an ambitious two bedroom housing scheme for the residents of the state. According to source, Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has in principle agreed to grand a loan of Rs. 12,600 crore to Telangana government to implement 2BHK housing scheme across the state.

The matter is disclosed during the meeting of the state government secretary (Housing Development) Ashok Kumar and HUDCO officials in New Delhi on Monday. According to the source, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will shortly be signed between the government and HUDCO.

The issues regarding to finalized technicalities of loan disbursal had also been discussed by the HUDCO officials in the meeting. Following the meeting secretary Ashok Kumar visited New Delhi for further consultations. The loan amount will be disbursed during the financial year 2016-17.

It may be recalled that the State government had earlier requested for a loan of Rs. 3,000 crore for the scheme in the financial year 2015-16. HUDCO has so far released Rs. 1,640 of that amount.
