2BHK Housing Scheme in Telangana: On Wednesday a meeting was organised regarding to the progress of the scheme. Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA & UD) minister, K T Rama Rao chaired the meeting an urged real estate companies and individual builders in Hyderabad and elsewhere in the State to take part two-bedroom housing scheme of the government. The scheme is meant for weaker section of the society under which the government will construct housing units.

Rama Rao said that the real estate companies should consider taking part in two-bedroom housing scheme, as part of their corporate social responsibility. State government will continue the work of constructing 2BHK affordable housing in Hyderabad and around 1 lakh houses units would be completed in next two years.

The minister also directed the municipal officials to push the task of finalising the bidding process of the scheme so that the construction process begin as soon as possible.

According to the information received from the source, the municipal corporation has already identified 600 acres land in the suburbs areas of the city where the housing project were planned under two-bedroom housing scheme.

During the meeting the minister also added that the efforts are being made to provide all basic facilities and amenities in the proposed projects of two-bedroom housing scheme such as hospitals, schools and other ancillary services.

Tenders are active to participate in the construction of two-bedroom housing scheme which to be closed very soon. Many real estate companies and individual builders attend the meeting and interacted with the municipal officials and they also requested the GHMC authorities to extend the last date to participate in the tenders that were called for the construction of 2BHK houses at several places in Hyderabad.

During this conversation, real estate companies said that extension of the tender’s deadline will enable more companies to participate in the process.

It is learnt that the MA&UD Minister has responded positively to the request of the builders’ community and has agreed to extend the last date for applying for tenders.
