27,000 Flats to be Offered by DDA in New Housing Scheme

Delhi Development Authority is all set to woo people of Delhi especially who belongs to the economically weaker sections with its largest ever offering of 27,000 flats in the new 2014 housing scheme.

The 2014 scheme which is expected to be announced in June 2014 will see a substantial rise in number of flats from 16,118 offered 4 years back in 2010 scheme. DDA has been offering 90% or 24,000 flats to just the Economically Weaker Sections of the society exclusively through draw.

The pricing of flats in new 2014 scheme is expected to be kept in the range of Rs. 12 Lakh to Rs 1 Crore. The scheme will offer 1,500 flats to the middle income group (MIG) and can be priced between Rs. 30-80 Lakh. There will be 1,375 HIG (High Income Group) flats with a starting price of nearly Rs. 1 Crore.

According to the DDA officials, the new EWS flats are built using the substantially improved pre-fabricated technology and offer a superior quality of construction. These flats will spread across Narela, Dwarka, Rohini and Sultangarhi.

According to the DDA sources, the authority has also started construction work on another 37,000 flats out of which 25,700 will be MIG flats. The construction of this batch of flats is expected to be completed by March 2017. The authority has also already planned the development of another 47,000 more flats and work is to be started by the end of this year only.

DDA, from now on will adopt a new methodology for announcing the schemes. According to the senior DDA officials, the scheme will be announced only when the flats are in “ready to move” condition.
