Over 26,000 Citizens Apply for PM Awas Yojana in Aurangabad

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Aurangabad: Till Friday evening, around 26,000 home seekers from the city has applied for the scheme. The online registrations for the scheme were started on 19 July and will be opened till 15 August 2016.
During the registration period, the municipal authorities are expecting that the number of applicants for PM Awas Yojana will cross the count of 50,000.

Home seekers who wants to apply for the scheme may visit the nearest internet café where they can upload the applications from along with the copy of documents like Adahar card, proof of income and address proof among others.

Project in-charge and Executive engineer of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Sikandar Ali said that the people across the income groups are applying to avail the benefits under PM Awas Yojana. According to them, around 250 centers opened in the city for the convenience of the people. Besides this, political parties and social organizations are also assisting the home seekers in filing the application.

Homeless citizens living in the city from last 15 years can apply for the scheme but based on their annual income, they would be divided into different group which would eventually decide the quantum of subsidy for the beneficiaries

Beneficiaries of this scheme will get a subsidy from central government on the basis of their annual income.
