1883 Crore Infrastructure Projects Launched in Uttar Pradesh

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav yesterday launched several infrastructure projects of worth Rupees 1,883 Crores at his government residence.

The projects includes irrigation, public facilities, housing, tourism, city development and electricity facilities.

Chief Minister on the occasion said that Tajmahal is popular across the world and the people visiting it should never feel difficulty of any kind. He said that visitors feel the lack of facilities here which result in the defamation of the state and country. Under the new project, Tajganj area will get several new world class facilities and beautification will be done. Agara inner ring road development is also important in order to ease the traffic within the city and utilize the full benefits of Yamuna Expressway. CM expect to see increase number of domestic and foreign tourists in the coming years when the projects are completed.

The development of bridges over the several rivers, sewer and canals in the state will be the primary focus in order to make the transport more accessible. CM also enforced the development of Pakri bridge which was the traffic means for more than 1 lakh people.

Minister of Irrigation and Public Works Department Mr. Shivpal Singh Yadav said that the state government will build at least 3,000 tubewell in next 3 years. Quoting that UP canal system is the largest in the world, he said that the irrigation work in the Bundelkhand is in full swing. He also said that the government has increased the irrigation capacity to 8 Lakh hectare in last 2 years.

The state tourism minister also gave lectures about the tourism in UP and its benefits for the state and country’s economy.

There were several ministers present during the ceremony from several state departments.
