Kanpur state government has decided to provide home for economically weaker persons. Under Asara Awas Yojana 1662, residential units will constructed for economical weaker sections and the EWS persons will get a house soon under the scheme. The Kanpur state government had released funds for this EWS flat scheme.
DUDA project officer Nidhi Bajpai said that a scheme for economically weaker persons was prepared about one year back and sent to the state government for sanction. It would be a good opportunity for economical weaker sectiion of the society to own a home. Under this scheme many houses would be allotted and the construction work would soon begin, she added.
The houses would be developed at Sajari locations. As many as 1,500 houses would be constructed at Sajari locality while remaining 120 houses would be constructed near AND College in Brahma Nagar. For Sajari project, the state government had sanctioned Rs 4 crores. For Brahma Nagar, a sum of Rs 85 lacs had been released. She said that the development team would soon begin the construction work.
