Tamilnadu state government inviting online applications for tnpds new smart cards through Tamilnadu Public Distribution System official website at www.tnpds.gov.in for changing the manual ration cards in the state. To implement the initiative of automate PDS Operations by converting old ration cards into smart ration cards, TN government launched Smart Family Card Scheme by the help of which all the process is being processed through internet like edit, update and status etc.
The user can use their family ration card until the conversion of old cards into new smart cards. The existing ration card holders will receive an PIN on their linked mobile number after that they can collect their smart ration card from their nearest ration distribution center.
How to Apply Online for New Smart Ration Card
Candidates can follow the below step by step procedure to apply online for Smart Ration/Family Card in Tamilnadu.
Step-1: Visit the official website of Tamilnadu Public Distribution System at www.tnpds.gov.in
Step-2: Check right section of the page “USEFUL LINKS” and Click on “Smart Card Application”. After that smart card form will open as mentioned below:
Step-4: In the above smart card application form, you will have to fill all the required details after that residence proof in form of JPG, PNG or GIF format will be uploaded and the file size should not be more than 2 MB.
Step-5: Before submitting your application form recheck or verify all the filled information and after a surety click on “Submit” button.
Step-6: After that you will be provided a reference number of your application with the help you will be able to track your smart card status.
